Gondola Village at Holy Cross is located just above the old town of Holy Cross City, Colorado.
In summer and fall, Gondola Village can be reached by a number of wilderness trails, as well as the Forest Service Road -- 759 Holy Cross City. Most guests choose to walk, but some brave souls have taken up their SxSs, Jeeps, mountain bikes, and snowmobiles or snow bikes. The 759 Holy Cross City Jeep Road is not suitable for regular passenger cars, trucks, or SUVs and should only be attempted by experienced off-road drivers in properly equipped vehicles (35-37" + tires, winch, armor, lockers).
Folks walking in have many choices, from walking up 2.6 miles of the 759 Jeep Road to taking the Fancy Creek trail to Fancy Lake, to a longer traverse over Fall Creek pass or Cross Creek.
In winter, from approximately November 21st to May 21st (can be a bit earlier or later depending on the season), the trip in is longer, approximately 11 miles over snow (cars not allowed) from Highway 24. Snowmobiles, backcountry skis, splitboards, or snowshoes are required in the winter.
